TACTIC: Part Objects
In the Italian Gardens of the holiday town of Weston-super-Mare, the face of the statue of Vanity is pitted and deformed by wind erosion and the effects of acid rain. Nearby a headless stone hawk has caught in its claw a stone sparrow it can neither devour nor release.
Collect photographs of statues with missing parts (it doesn’t have to be their genitalia!)
Imagine a park of lost limbs and organs.
The human body’s equivalent of Szorborpark, the graveyard of Stalinism in the suburbs of Budapest, filled with the unwanted statues of Karl Marx and Hungarian workers.
